Downtown Thoughts

It is amazing after seeing the diaster this week in how the downtown area development
has taken some hits how our political representatives still suggest that everything is on course.

The fact that the developer who is suppose to be developing our entertainment district for your new venues can no longer afford the home that he lives in should be creating some chest pain for our mayor.

Church Street was a concept that was great in the 80's put with Disney, and Universal those tourist are no longer coming downtown.

If anyone has walked down church street lately, having the W55 right in the middle certainly takes away any historical sense of the place.

I also find it interesting that the bond issues for the venues has still not been processed. Perhaps nobody wants to underwrite it? People need to start asking questions on whether Orlando/Orange County can really pay for these venues. The art center has the private monies to move forward, the other venues need to be re-evaluated

As a member of Red Sox Nation, I am feeling very good today after our second world championship in four years. Considering it took 42 years of
my life to see the first one, the second one also feels pretty good.

Downtown Partnership

I had the opportunity to go to the Downtown Partnership event last night at the clubhouse.

This is a wonderful organization that really gets alot of the young up and comers in the downtown area together once per month. It is really a high energy event.

If you are not a great room worker like myself, this venue makes it very easy since I find people are more receptive to meeting others.

Specials & Booking Holiday Tapas Party

This week we have started offering special items to our menu.
Always looking for something that our customers will enjoy that is different than any other menu offering in the downtown area.

We have started offering rice bowl specials with gumbo or asia spice which has been very well received. Yesterday we offered a large idaho potato full loaded based on customer preference.
These specials will be different every day.

We have also started booking holiday parties. We are calling it "Have a Tapa Holiday". We are offering holiday parties a menu of incredible tapas, sangrina as well as beer and wines.

These tapas are the best in central florida and far exceed those offered by other restuarants in town. Chef Angel has offered to provide a free tasting of some of our tapas for those interested in booking a party.

This is our first entery into the blog. We would like to use this outlet as a way to notify our patrons of changes at that restuarant as well as a tool for promotional opportunities.

We will also use this blog as a means to provide commentary on the constantly changing events effecting our city and the personalities involved.
